Who we are looking for We are looking for a dynamic, hungry senior reporter to drive M&A coverage in Italy for its Mergermarket product. What you will work at This exciting opportunity will see the successful candidate join a global network of over 500 financial journalists focused on sector-defining scoops and other forward-looking corporate M&A coverage. Collaborative, independent and fast-paced, our news team focuses on off-diary exclusives. Reporters at Mergermarket don’t turn around press releases. Your time will be spent 100% reporting new information. With a clear pathway for career development as we continue to expand our bureau network, this role will offer growth and travel opportunities. From scaling start-ups, through family-owned enterprises and through into private equity-backed companies, we are particularly focused on building the primary sponsor buyout pipeline with this role. Your Responsibilities * Producing a steady flow of exclusive articles and breaking news by interviewing decision makers, CEOs, bankers, lawyers and other sources * Attending key conferences, trade fairs and relevant industry events in Italy to conduct exclusive interviews * Working both independently and in collaboration with the wider team of reporters in Italy and throughout EMEA Your competences * Excellent English and Italian speaking and writing skills * Reporting experience from another financial news service, newspaper or online publication * Ability to work on own initiative as well as in collaboration with the wider team * Willing to travel to key events within the region What’s in it for you: Mentoring, training and support in building your journalism career Frequent all-expenses paid travel to our London and regional offices Opportunities for promotion and advancement within Mergermarket, ION Analytics and the wider ION Group.
