Job Description:
VocoVision is looking for a qualified teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) education to join our team for the 2024-25 school year. This fully remote position involves delivering engaging lessons using virtual platforms to students with hearing impairments.
Key Duties:
? Assist an on-site teacher of the deaf/hard of hearing.
? Create virtual lessons that are interactive and aligned with the curriculum for DHH students.
? Use technology like video chat and captioning services to communicate effectively.
? Provide individual instruction, adapting methods for various communication modes, such as ASL.
? Work with families and educational teams to develop and implement IEPs.
? Continuously assess student progress and adjust instruction as needed.
? Maintain detailed records of attendance and academic achievements.
Required Skills and Qualifications: ? Bachelor?s in Deaf Education or related field (Master?s preferred). ? State teaching certification/licensure in DHH education. ? Minimum two years of experience with DHH students, particularly in virtual settings. ? Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) and educational technology tools. ? Ability to build strong connections with students and parents remotely. ? Must hold an Illinois teaching license.
