JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Ross and Carol Nese College of Nursing at Penn State is hiring an Assistant Director for Annual Reporting to directly support our annual data reporting needs for Nursing accreditation and compliance. The College?s undergraduate and graduate Nursing programs are offered University-wide and are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), the accrediting arm of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN). Additionally, our programs meet compliance standards set by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing (PASBON). Furthermore, the College maintains a Center of Excellence designation with the National League for Nursing (NLN) and is in the process of establishing accreditation with the Council of Accreditation (COA) of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs. Reporting to the College?s Director of Assessment and Accreditation, the Assistant Director for Annual Reporting will be responsible for preparing our suite of external annual reports for submission to these and other nursing education organizations, as well as preparing annual reports for internal College stakeholders, including our Dean, our Associate and Assistant Deans, our undergraduate and graduate program directors, and the College?s Assessment Committee. The Assistant Director for Annual Reporting will supervise the College?s Data Analyst to ensure that all data is collected, cleaned, and prepared for annual reporting in accordance with accreditation and compliance standards. This will involve querying data from official University database systems, such as iTwo, the Institutional Data Repository (IDR), and the Faculty Activity Insight System (FAIS), as well as supervising data collection from survey tools, such as Qualtrics. The College?s Data Analyst also maintains an internal faculty database, which the Assistant Director will use to aid in the preparation of annual reports. Additionally, the Assistant Director will collaborate with analysts and professionals across the University to obtain specialized data that cannot be accessed by one of the above methods. Documentation of data collection and reporting steps is critical to the success of the position. In addition to supervising the College?s Data Analyst, the Assistant Director will also represent the Ross and Carol Nese College of Nursing through participation in various Penn State data groups, including the Institutional Research Interest Group (IRIG), the Power BI Community of Practice Group, and the Student Success Reporting Group, among others. Lastly, the Assistant Director will serve as a backup for their team members on tasks related to data entry, data request fulfillment, data reporting, and committee duties. Education and Experience: This position will be filled an Analysis and Planning Consultant ? Advanced Professional, which requires a minimum of a Bachelor?s degree and three years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates should have basic statistical and/or data analysis skills and experience maintaining datasets in software such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, or SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS). Additionally, experience with data visualization tools, such as Microsoft Power BI or Tableau, is preferred. Familiarity with Penn State database systems, such as iTwo, LionPATH, Canvas, Starfish, or Workday, is an asset. The ideal candidate should have a background in education and data analysis. Other qualifications include: excellent ability to work both independently and within a collaborative team environment; the ability to multitask on a number of projects, make informed judgements about project priorities, and meet established deadlines; accuracy and attention to detail; excellent organizational and time management skills; interpersonal and communication skills.
