Workers Compensation Claims Specialist Commercial Trucking (Remote)

About the position CCMSI is seeking an experienced Workers' Compensation Claim Specialist to join our team remotely. This role is dedicated to a single client account within the commercial trucking industry, managing a caseload of workers' compensation claims across Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia. The role requires a strong investigative approach and effective communication with clients, insureds, and defense counsel. Occasional travel (1-2 times per year) may be required for client claim reviews or training sessions. Responsibilities • Investigate, evaluate, and adjust workers' compensation claims in accordance with corporate standards and applicable state laws. • Collaborate with clients, injured workers, and vendors to manage claims efficiently and deliver high-quality service. • Establish and recommend reserves within authority levels. • Coordinate and manage defense counsel activity with a focus on cost-effective outcomes. • Review and approve medical and legal bills in accordance with state guidelines and client expectations. • Maintain thorough documentation, notes, and activity logs for each claim. • Monitor diary tasks and ensure timely completion of key claim milestones. • Participate in virtual or on-site claim reviews and trainings as needed. Requirements • 5+ years of experience adjusting workers' compensation claims. • Strong investigative, analytical, and communication skills. • Ability to manage a full caseload with a focus on timely, thorough documentation and proactive file handling. • Experience working independently in a remote environment. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). • Ability to effectively manage defense counsel and communicate legal strategy to clients. Nice-to-haves • Florida Workers' Compensation Adjuster's License is highly desired; licenses in other covered jurisdictions are a plus. • Prior experience working with commercial trucking or transportation industry claims. • Strong understanding of jurisdictional requirements in FL, GA, NC, SC, VA, and WV.
