Job Title: Video Content Creator & Editor (Contract / Part-Time) Company: Social Design Location: St. Louis, MO (Preferred) — Hybrid / Some On-Site Shooting Required Schedule: 15–25 hours/month to start Compensation: $25–$30/hr (Contract / 1099) Industry: Marketing, Creative Services, Social Media Production About Social Design Social Design is a modern, elevated marketing studio based in St. Louis specializing in content production, brand storytelling, and unconventional, intentional creative. We partner with clients across multiple industries—from medical spas and orthodontics to automotive dealerships and beauty studios—to create fresh, editorial-style content that stands out. We’re growing and looking for a creative Video Content Creator & Editor who LOVES short-form content, knows how to shoot clean b-roll, and can turn raw footage into polished, scroll-stopping Reels and TikToks. If you enjoy shooting, editing, and bringing creative ideas to life (without all the burnout-inducing responsibilities of a “do-everything” marketing role), this is for you. About the Role This is a flexible, part-time contractor role perfect for someone who enjoys content creation and wants consistent monthly work. You’ll work closely with our Creative Director to bring concepts to life. You’ll be provided with shot lists, creative direction, and reference examples—your job is simply to capture and edit high-quality video content. This is not a social media manager role. This role focuses ONLY on shooting and editing short-form content. What You’ll Do Content Shooting (On-Site) • Visit client locations (St. Louis–based) to capture short-form video content • Follow provided shot lists + concepts • Take photos and film b-roll, transitions, behind-the-scenes shots, and lifestyle-style clips • Capture simple, aesthetic footage for Reels/TikToks • Shoot automotive, beauty, spa, wellness, and lifestyle content Content Editing • Edit Reels/TikToks (cutting clips, transitions, music, pacing, text overlays) • Organize footage and deliver clean, branded edits • Follow brand guidelines for each client • Select trending styles, transitions, or audio (when applicable) • Export and upload final assets Support (Light, Optional) • Assist with basic content batching • Suggest simple shot ideas • Help maintain an organized content library What You Won’t Be Responsible For ❌ Running social media accounts ❌ Designing graphics or ads ❌ Writing strategies ❌ Scheduling posts ❌ Managing clients ❌ Creating marketing plans This is a focused, creative role, not a “jack-of-all-trades” marketing job. You’re a Great Fit If You… • Love creating short-form video content • Have experience with photography, filming and editing social media videos • Have a good visual eye + attention to detail • Understand current Reel/TikTok trends and pacing • Can work efficiently and independently • Are reliable with deadlines • Enjoy elevated, clean, aesthetic content • Can be on-site in St. Louis as needed (1–4 visits/month) Bonus (not required): • Experience shooting automotive content • Experience shooting beauty, spa, or lifestyle content • Basic knowledge of lighting, framing, and composition Requirements • Ability to shoot clean video content (iPhone or camera—both acceptable) • Ability to edit short-form content (CapCut, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, etc.) • Own reliable transportation • Ability to work as a 1099 independent contractor • Must be St. Louis based or able to travel locally for shoots Compensation • $25–$30 per hour depending on experience • 15–25 hours/month to start • Additional hours may become available as we grow • Paid test project will be assigned before final hiring How to Apply Please send the following to [email protected] • Portfolio or website • 2–3 examples of reels/TikToks you’ve shot and edited • A brief intro about your creative style
