Role Description You will be working on a research project for one of the world’s top AI companies as an independent contractor. You will be using your experience and deep domain knowledge to design questions and help train AI models related to your expertise as a Telephone Operator. Qualifications 4+ years full-time work experience as a Telephone Operator Be based in the US, UK, or Canada (No other countries will be considered) Possess strong writing skills and be comfortable working with various computer applications and platforms Requirements Observe signal lights on switchboards, and dial or press buttons to make connections. Operate telephone switchboards and systems to advance and complete connections, including those for local, long distance, mobile, person-to-person, and emergency calls. Update directory information. Perform clerical duties such as typing, proofreading, and sorting mail. Offer special assistance to persons such as those who are unable to dial or who are in emergency situations. Monitor automated systems for placing collect calls and intervene for callers needing assistance. Provide assistance for customers with special billing requests. Provide relay service for users who are deaf or hard of hearing. Keep records of calls placed and received, and of related toll charges. Promote company products, services, and savings plans when appropriate. Benefits The hourly compensation rate offered will be competitive based on your professional background and geographic location. The work is fully asynchronous and can be done around your schedule. This project requires a minimum commitment of 15 hours per week. The work will last for approximately 3-4 weeks after you begin the project. Access to a desktop or laptop computer is required; Chromebook computers are not accepted. Company Description We can meet industry-standard compensation expectations for your current role. We will pay you out weekly via Stripe Connect based on the number of project work hours that you log. You will be classified as an “at-will” contractor to Mercor. We cannot currently support H1-B or STEM OPT status candidates.
