Job Summary We are seeking a Special Education Teacher to join our team on a remote basis. As a Special Education Teacher with AIM, you will be responsible for developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs, assessing student progress, and communicating with parents, teachers, and administrators. You will also be responsible for adapting lessons to meet the needs of students, teaching small groups, and collecting and analyzing student data to inform instruction. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement IEPs for a caseload of students with special needs Assess student progress and update IEPs throughout the school year Adapt lessons to meet the needs of students with diverse learning styles and abilities Teach small groups of students in reading and/or math, including students in general education, 504, response-to-intervention, Special Education, and English Language Learners Collect and analyze student data to inform instruction and maximize achievement Communicate with parents, teachers, counselors, and administrators regarding student progress Prepare and help students transition from grade to grade and after graduation Implement state learning standards and assessments to meet ambitious academic expectations Submit weekly lesson plans and implement formal and informal assessments to track student progress Communicate with students and families on a weekly basis regarding progress and learning needs Facilitate effectively and use personal technology as a communication and educational tool to improve student achievement and manage work-related tasks Implement a clear and consistent behavior management system that aligns with campus-wide initiatives Help shape and develop a school-wide culture that fosters a productive and enthusiastic learning environment for each student Establish and maintain a cooperative working relationship with students and families based on trust, understanding, and respect Host necessary tutoring sessions to meet the needs of students Requirements and Qualifications Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution Experience: Experience in a Special Education classroom setting Licenses or Certifications: Valid Certification in Special Education and content is required Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of core academic subject assigned Knowledge of curriculum and instruction Ability to instruct students and manage student behavior Possess strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills What We Offer At AIM, we offer a competitive regional market salary for educators, as well as a comprehensive health benefits package.
