About United Airlines' Cybersecurity and Digital Risk (CDR) Team Our CDR team plays a critical role in keeping our customers' and employees' information safe and secure. We're looking for an expert leader to join our team and help us embed cybersecurity into the DNA of United Airlines. As a Principal Architect - Infrastructure Cybersecurity, you'll be responsible for maturing our infrastructure security capabilities and ensuring the adoption of security standard processes across the entire application or system lifecycle. Key Responsibilities: Threat Modeling and Security Evaluation: Conduct threat modeling, end-to-end security evaluation, and design and development of infrastructure and cloud security policies, standards, and procedures. Expert Technology Competence: Demonstrate expert technology competence in two or more domains, such as security, resiliency, infrastructure, platform, product, endpoint, application, identity management, and data security, and zero trust. Collaboration and Partnership: Actively partner with team members to understand business requirements and develop supporting security and resiliency principles to ensure adoption of industry and enterprise standard processes. Security Architecture Strategies: Develop and promote security and resiliency architecture strategies, frameworks, and patterns while partnering closely with other cybersecurity teams and collaborating with partner organizations. Cybersecurity Issue Identification: Identify cybersecurity issues, strengths, and weaknesses across various cyber domains and partner organizations that introduce risk and provide solutions. Security Standards and Frameworks: Assist in defining and implementing Security Standards/frameworks and train and coach development and engineering teams to integrate cybersecurity networking best practices into infrastructure and foundational services. Security Advisory Boards and Committees: Participate in and drive security advisory boards and committees, providing security architecture review and process ownership for new and existing solutions. Secure Infrastructure-as-Code: Serve as a champion for secure infrastructure-as-code for end-to-end configuration and overall success of the IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS environments. Solution Design and Implementation: Plan, design, build, and test approaches and solutions that are tied to business outcomes and our cybersecurity strategy and vision. Benefits and Perks: Competitive salary and benefits package Opportunities for career growth and professional development Employee-run Business Resource Group communities Parental leave and other family-friendly benefits 401k and other retirement savings options Space available travel and other travel perks Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree: Required Technical Experience: 7+ years of technical experience, with recent emphasis on security and architecture Network Security Principles: Expert level knowledge of network security principles and technologies, including network architecture, segmentation, and access control strategies Network Infrastructure Components: Expert level knowledge of network infrastructure components and technologies, such as routers, switches, firewalls, proxy servers, reverse proxies, load balancers, IDS/IPS, VPN, SDWAN, network taps, application centric networking, and overlay networking concepts Cybersecurity Standards: Expertise in developing and maintaining cybersecurity standards, mapping and tailoring controls, and overseeing security metrics to ensure alignment with network security objectives, broader infrastructure security objectives, and compliance requirements Secure Connectivity Methods: Proficient knowledge of secure connectivity methods via private or encrypted means Cloud Interconnectivity Methods: Proficient knowledge of cloud interconnectivity methods Problem-Solving and Communication: Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, interpersonal, collaboration, written, and verbal communication skills Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree: Preferred CCIE: Highly preferred CCNP, CCDP, AWS Solution Architect Associate: Preferred 8+ Years of Technical Experience: 8+ years of technical experience, with 5 years directly related to security and architecture Identity and Access Management: Understanding of core identity concepts, including SAML, SCIM, IDP, OIDC, and related integrations with security policy decision and enforcement points Wireless and Cellular Networks: Experience and expertise in securing wireless and cellular networks, campus networking infrastructures, and satellite communication technologies Information Security Techniques: Expert knowledge of information security techniques and tools, such as content filtering, application firewalls, vulnerability scanners, EDR, forensics software, incident response, SIEM, SOAR, NAC, etc. Why Join Us: At United Airlines, we're committed to creating a diverse and inclusive work environment that values different perspectives and experiences.
