Practice Support Assistant- Litigation

Remote Full-time
About the position Are you ready to launch your career at the intersection of operations, client service, and innovation? Are you energized by solving problems, managing details, and helping a world-class legal team deliver for clients? Orrick's Practice Support Assistants (Practice Analysts) are the engine behind our innovative support model - smart, proactive professionals who roll up their sleeves to make things happen. We're currently recruiting a Practice Support Assistant (Practice Analyst) - Litigation to support one of the firm's marquee global clients, a Fortune 500 company with a complex matter portfolio. This is an entry-level, hands-on role at the intersection of client service, legal operations, and business process improvement. Ideal for self-starters who want to build a career in a top-tier global law firm. You'll work closely with lawyers and business professionals across multiple time zones, developing strong operational instincts and a bias for action. If you're eager to learn, unafraid to take initiative, and ready to be part of a high-performing team that values curiosity and accountability, this role is for you. You'll be embedded within one of Orrick's award-winning program — a client-dedicated operations team that redefines how litigation support is delivered. Working exclusively on matters for one of the firm's marquee global clients, you'll gain a rare insider perspective on large-scale, tech-driven case management. Responsibilities • Support Active Litigation & Case Management: Serve as a key operations contact for one of Orrick's largest global clients. Manage day-to-day case activity through one of the firm's platform, ensuring that every matter is tracked, organized, and executed with precision. • Maintain and Analyze Case Data: Input, monitor, and audit data across multiple systems, ensuring accuracy in case details, deadlines, and deliverables. Use reporting tools like Excel and Power BI to track matter progress and generate insights for client teams. • Facilitate Client Communication & Deliverables: Coordinate with attorneys and project managers to ensure timely delivery of updates, reports, and filings. Anticipate information needs and keep stakeholders informed proactively. • Drive Operational Efficiency: Identify workflow bottlenecks and recommend improvements to enhance speed, consistency, and data integrity. • Coordinate Cross-Functional Work: Partner with Team Support, Finance, and knowledge management teams to ensure seamless end-to-end execution of client work. • Deliver Excellence Under Pressure: Manage multiple tasks simultaneously with accuracy and composure in a high-volume, fast-moving client environment. Requirements • Grit & Follow-Through. You don't stop until the job is done right. You take ownership, stay resourceful, and solve problems—even when the path isn't obvious. • Bias for Action. You're not afraid to jump in, learn quickly, and figure things out. You're the person others trust to just handle it. • Attention to Detail. Precision matters. You take pride in delivering work that's accurate, polished, and complete. • Client Service Mindset. You anticipate needs and communicate clearly with professionalism and empathy. • Tech Fluency. Comfortable navigating modern tools (Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, Power BI, and document systems). • Collaborative Spirit. You work well under pressure, keep a positive attitude, and bring energy to every task. • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required • High technology aptitude and excellent computer skills in the full MS Office suite • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Crazy attention to detail • Some research and database skills • Flexibility, an enthusiastic approach to client service, and strong organization and time management skills. Benefits • We offer a full range of elective health benefits including medical, dental, vision and life; robust mental well-being programs; child, family, elder, and pet care benefits; short- and long-term disability and industry leading parental leave benefits, health savings account contributions (w/applicable medical plan), flexible spending accounts, and a 401K program. • This role will receive compensated time off through our Paid Time Off program and paid holidays.
