Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly reliable Online Proofreader to review and refine written content across various formats. This role is ideal for someone who has exceptional command of grammar, punctuation, clarity, and consistency—and who enjoys ensuring that every piece of content meets a polished, professional standard. The Online Proofreader will work remotely and collaborate with writers, teams, and project managers to ensure accuracy, consistency, and brand voice alignment. Key Responsibilities • Review and proofread written materials for grammar, spelling, punctuation, clarity, and formatting • Ensure documents maintain consistency in tone, structure, and style guidelines • Identify and correct errors in sentence structure, word usage, and overall readability • Fact-check basic information when required • Provide constructive feedback to writers to enhance content quality • Track corrections and maintain version control across digital documents • Meet assigned deadlines and manage multiple proofreading tasks simultaneously • Work with project managers to clarify instructions, timelines, and expectations • Safeguard confidentiality and accuracy when handling sensitive content Qualifications • Exceptional knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation • Strong understanding of writing styles, tone, and formatting guidelines • Ability to spot inconsistencies, typos, and readability issues quickly • 1–3 years of proofreading, editing, or writing experience (freelance or professional) • Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy • Ability to work independently and deliver consistent results • Proficient with digital editing tools (Google Docs, MS Word, PDF annotators, etc.) • Reliable internet connection and remote workspace Preferred Qualifications • Experience proofreading for marketing, business, academic, or technical content • Familiarity with AP, Chicago, or MLA style guides • Basic understanding of content management systems or editorial workflows • Background in publishing, communications, or linguistics What We Offer • Flexible remote schedule • Paid training and ongoing development • Opportunities for long-term assignments or advancement • Supportive team environment with clear communication and expectations • Steady workload based on performance and availability Apply tot his job
