Non-Profit Membership Specialist - Remote (Non-Profit experience Required)

Job Type: Full-Time Location: Remote Compensation: Temp ($28/hr-$30/hr), Perm ($63k-$70k) Experience Level: 2–5 years Position Summary The Organization is seeking a detail-oriented and service-driven Membership Specialist to support our growing community of professionals. In this role, you’ll manage key functions across member recruitment, engagement, and retention. You’ll be the first point of contact for members, maintain accurate membership data, and support various member-related initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in membership operations, CRM systems (especially Salesforce), and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service in a mission-driven environment. Key Responsibilities1. Member Services Support • Respond to member inquiries via phone, email, and online platforms in a professional and timely manner • Serve as the first point of contact for password resets, profile updates, and dues receipts • Escalate complex issues to senior staff as needed • Track inquiries to identify common concerns and recommend improvements • Maintain service scripts, FAQs, and reference resources 2. Membership Operations • Process and track new applications and renewals • Maintain accurate member records using the Association Management System (AMS), ideally Fonteva • Support benefit fulfillment, including journal access and member-only content • Generate standard membership reports and assist with compiling quarterly updates • Ensure data practices align with compliance standards (e.g., GDPR) 3. Engagement & Communication • Help manage records of marketing campaigns and promotions • Assist in updating website content, applications, and email templates • Prepare and send onboarding materials, welcome packets, and renewal notices 4. Events & Programs • Support planning and logistics for member-related events and meetings • Track engagement and participation in programs and services Qualifications • 2–5 years in a membership, customer service, or CRM-focused role, ideally within a professional membership organization • CRM experience required; Salesforce or Fonteva strongly preferred • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) Competencies • Customer Service: Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and responsiveness • Technology Savvy: Proficient with modern CRM systems and tools • Detail-Oriented: Ensures data accuracy and quality in all member-related tasks • Communication: Clearly conveys information to members and team members • Problem Solving: Identifies recurring issues and suggests efficient solutions • Team Player: Collaborates effectively across departments Work Environment & Physical Demands • Remote position with standard weekday hours • Occasional travel may be required (up to 5 days per year) • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs and sit for long periods using a computer #INDHP Job Types: Full-time, Contract Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour Experience: • Non-Profit Membership management: 3 years (Required) • CRM software: 3 years (Preferred) Work Location: Remote Apply tot his job
