Key Responsibilities: Assist teachers in planning, preparation, and implementation of individualized student objectives and goals, with a focus on self-sufficiency and educational success Provide support in special needs areas, including wheelchair transfers, toileting, and behavior management Document student progress, medication administration, and medical interventions Shadow and support students in mainstream and community environments Participate in total school functions and activities, including cafeteria and playground supervision Implement specific therapy exercises under the direction of a licensed therapist Requirements: Associate's degree or 60 semester hours of coursework from an accredited institution of higher education, or pass a formal state assessment (Parapro test paid for and administered by the district) Additional training in child psychology, classroom management, special education needs, or related areas of study (desired) General clerical experience and proficiency in computer programs, including Microsoft Excel and Word First aid and CPR training required Excellent communication and human relation skills, with the ability to work cooperatively with staff, students, parents, and community members What We Offer: Competitive salary ($15.72 per hour) Opportunities for professional growth and development A supportive and inclusive work environment The chance to make a positive impact on the lives of students with special needs Join Our Team!
