About the position The Senior Construction Claims Analyst (Cost Control) plays a critical role in reviewing and recommending approval of construction change orders, analyzing claims, and participating in the negotiation of claim settlements on complex capital construction projects. This position requires a high degree of analytical skills and knowledge of construction costs, as well as the ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment. The analyst will also provide feedback on design-phase project documents and ensure compliance with contract terms. Responsibilities Review and analyze claims in coordination with internal and external project staff to determine claim merit and value. , Participate in the negotiation of fair and reasonable claim resolution. , Review and recommend approval of change orders, ensuring compliance with original contract scope and costs. , Audit small change orders post-processing and resolve any issues discovered during the audit. , Conduct design-phase document reviews and provide feedback to design staff and consultants. , Coordinate with project estimating on cost estimate reviews. , Review construction progress schedule updates against baseline schedules for potential delays. , Participate in Project Health Assessment analyses and develop recommendations to improve project reporting. Requirements Bachelor's degree plus five years relevant experience. , Valid driver's license is required. , Experience in contracting, claim analysis, schedule analysis, estimating, bidding, and contract formation. , Knowledge of financial management systems and project management systems, particularly Primavera Contract Manager and P6. Nice-to-haves Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a construction-related field. , Experience in delay and dispute resolution. , Proficiency in PC applications such as Outlook, Excel, Word, and Access.
