Please Note: This internship is being offered September - December, 2025 Job Title: Retail Instructional Design Intern Primary Location: Grand Rapids, MI Employee Status: Part Time Hourly Estimated Hours/Week: 20-25 About this Position: The Retail Development Intern will work closely with the VP of Retail Development and will have indirect guidance from the Senior Retail Instructional Designer (mentor). This concentrated internship role provides exposure to various facets of retail learning, including instructional design, content creation, training, adult learning principles, and project management. It offers the opportunity to develop practical skills in creating and refining training materials, evaluating the effectiveness of learning content, and contributing to the growth of the retail development department. The intern will have the chance to gain hands-on experience with industry-standard tools, such as Adobe, Articulate, and Microsoft 360, while also participating in real-world training assessments and observing learning outcomes in live and remote environments. What You'll Do: • Content Creation: Assist in developing and designing training materials using programs such as Adobe, Articulate, and Microsoft 360. • Training Resource Updates: Help update and refine PowerPoint presentations and other training resources to enhance learning delivery. • Content Creation Requests: Respond to and fulfill content creation requests in a timely and professional manner. • Training Evaluation: Observe live and remote training sessions to assess the effectiveness of created learning content and suggest improvements. • Team Meetings and Activities: Participate in team or staff meetings to stay engaged with ongoing projects and activities. • Other Duties: Assist with any other tasks as required to meet the internship goals and contribute to the department's objectives. What You'll Bring: • College student at freshman, sophomore, junior, senior, or master level status, or a recent college graduate within the last 3 months. • Students majoring in Business Administration, Education, Social Science, Psychology, Communications, or related field of study is preferred. • Experience working Articulate Program and creation of Training materials, preferred. • A desire to work in training and development (or related field) is preferred. • A minimum GPA of 3.0.
