Professional Liability Claims Specialist

Description: • Process assigned primary and excess Professional Liability, Directors & Officers and Employment Practices Liability claims in accordance with established procedures. • Conduct and/or coordinate investigations and maintain diary of upcoming actions/events. • Act as primary liaison to the insured and establish timely and accurate reserves. • Audit, revise and pay bills related to defense of claims and settle claims as appropriate. • Attend important trials, arbitrations and mediations as appropriate. • Assist in all internal and external audits and notify the Underwriting Department of questionable risks. Requirements: • Four-year college degree. • Must have an adjuster's license and prior general liability experience • Experience handling primary and excess Professional Liability, Directors & Officers and Employment Practices Liability claims. • Working knowledge of insurance claim handling processes and procedures. • Working knowledge of legal principles of liability and damages, as well as legal procedures and the workings of legal institutions.
