Job title: Product Designer, AI Experiences - W2 in USA at Tricon Solutions Company: Tricon Solutions Job description : Job Title: Product Designer, AI Experiences Location: Remote (Tri-state – NJ, NY, CT preferred) Type: 1-Year Contract (W2) Target Start Date: April Description: Our premiere media client's Enterprise Product organization is seeking a Product Designer to design browser-based AI products, conversational tools, and data-driven dashboards for employee use. Products are not consumer-facing or mobile. The candidate must be an effective communicator and an active relationship-builder. The role does not involve design thinking, so the candidate must have a proven ability to accelerate through ambiguity when requirements are fluid. Responsibilities: Design user-friendly AI products while ensuring compliance to our design system, best practices, and Accessibility standards Provide competitive UX research to define best practices Produce documentation, including site maps, user personas & flows, etc. Use Figma for design and prototyping Eloquently present research and designs to stakeholders and leadership Collaborate with UX Lead to develop reusable design system patterns and templates to ensure consistency across products Actively participate in team critique, giving and receiving feedback to ensure quality control Requirements: 5+ years professional design experience; 2+ years professional experience working within (and contributing to) design systems; enterprise experience preferred 1+ years of professional AI design experience across multiple products Bachelor's degree in design, HCI, or equivalent field Expertise in Figma, FigJam, working knowledge of Accessibility guidelines Effective communication skills (written, verbal, listening, interpersonal) A professional portfolio of relevant designs & prototypes (Must include link in resume or application) Notes from Hiring Manager: About the Team: Team likes to work together Have meetings together to collaborate HM gives team space to work together and come up with solutions About the Position and Day-to-Day Activities: Prism Portal - to support employee productivity Support design for multiple AI initiatives Has 8 AI bots and expect to have 18 by end of year Partner w/ stakeholders (product, engineering, UX team) Employee gateway for all AI bots they have in the organization Half a dozen language models in motion now Replacing manual human research and asking AI to provide the response Pragmatic use cases Supply Change Agent has AI overlays/standalone UDX agent is imbedded in AI bot Top 3 Skills for the Role: Pull from requirements Can handle ambiguity Can take initiative What Stands Out on a Resume: MUST HAVE PORTFOLIO LINK Must have a desktop browser design exp (not mobile) - conversational interaction for example. More than 1 year of professional AI design exp AI dashboard experience, AI conversational experience, Dashboard experience. Certifications - not a high need as there are none for AI. Product design tool - Figma - 18 months of experience Bachelor's degree required What Has Made Someone Successful in this Role: What it IS - employee tools, desktop browser, 3rd party LLMs, assumption-based, competitive-research driven, reusable patterns. What it's NOT - consumer-facing, mobile, home-grown LLM, design thinking, user discovery, requirements-driven, bespoke design. Soft Skills Needed: Pull from requirements Likes to collaborate Can work with little to no direction Knows how to work with all levels of an organization Basic Screening Questions: MUST HAVE PORTFOLIO LINK in resume What design systems have you worked with? - NOT programs How do you handle ambiguity? e.g. lack of product requirements or access to users - not needing specificity, not many users give their time for testing/feedback. Mandatory Screening Questions: * How much professional experience does the candidate have designing desktop browser-based AI products? How many desktop browser-based AI products have they worked on? Can you share an example of a project where you designed a web-based AI chat tool for employees to help them be more productive at work?
