Job Summary: As a state-certified Elementary Special Education Teacher , you will be responsible for delivering specific course content in an online environment, providing instruction, support, and guidance to students with special needs, and managing the learning process to focus on each student's individual needs as defined by their Individualized Education Program (IEP). You will work actively with students, parents, and other educators to advance each student's learning and ensure compliance with special education requirements. Essential Functions: Develop and implement compliant IEPs, progress reports, and other state-specific special education documentation. Communicate with parents and related service staff to ensure students with special needs receive appropriate therapies. Facilitate and lead collaborative special education meetings, such as annual IEP meetings. Make modifications and accommodations to Stride K12 lessons and assessments as specified by the IEP. Collect data and work samples to monitor student progress towards IEP goals and objectives. Provide rich and engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for students. Maintain a professional online presence and communicate effectively with students, parents, and learning coaches. Requirements: Bachelor's degree. Active State Special Education teaching license. Ability to clear required background check. Michigan residency required. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with the proposed age group. Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology.
