Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Long-Term Substitute Teacher to join our team at School District U-46. As a Long-Term Substitute Teacher for Gifted Grade 6, you will play a vital role in providing classroom coverage for an extended period, guiding students towards achieving the District's curriculum and goals. Key Responsibilities: Deliver lesson plans as instructed by the regular classroom teacher and/or school administrators, including taking daily attendance Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students within the assigned classroom and respond to emergency situations following necessary safety precautions Maintain a professional and positive rapport with all students, staff, administration, and others Maintain order and discipline in the classroom, conducive to effective learning Clearly communicate expectations and adapt to individual learning needs, providing individual and small group instruction Strive to implement assistive technology in instruction and meet individual student needs Actively participate in professional development sessions Requirements: Experience working with students is a plus Must be detail-oriented and able to follow written and verbal instructions Ability to read, analyze, and interpret lesson plans, technical procedures, and textbooks Experience with technology equipment Applicants must hold at least one of the following licenses through the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE): Professional Educator License (PEL) or Substitute License (SUB) What We Offer: Competitive daily rate of $256.68 (effective after 15 days of continuous employment in the same assignment; retroactive to 1st day of assignment) Accrued 1 sick day after working 30 consecutive days under the same assignment Opportunity to work with a dynamic team of educators and make a positive impact on students' lives How to Apply: Ready to join us?
