Duties The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of manual tasks in food preparation and food service within the Child and Youth Services Flight. The primary duties of this position include but are not limited to: Assists in preparation of meals in accordance with USAFA menu guidelines. Serves food family style. Sets up classroom food carts for meal and snack service delivers food to classrooms in appropriate timeframes. Sets up and operates dishwashers, performs preventive maintenance and cleaning. Scrapes, soaks, scours, and scrubs bowls, pots and pans. Performs heavy duty cleaning tasks such as ceilings, exhaust hoods, under and behind kitchen equipment, washes floors and walls, refrigerators and freezers, and sanitizes garbage cans. May unload food from delivery trucks. Collects and transfers trash from work area to disposal area. Assembles meal items in quantity Portions food to each room based on number of children in attendance and required portion sizes. Distributes food substitutions to classrooms as needed for children with food allergies. Works cooperatively with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and appropriate meal services. This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and one every three years thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position. This position requires the incumbent to work shifts to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. This position requires the incumbent to complete assigned training, to include Food Handlers certification, within specified time from date hire or assignment to position. This position requires the incumbent to be able to obtain, maintain, and provide evidence of current immunizations this includes annual influenza vaccinations and be free of all communicable diseases. This position requires the incumbent to meet the 3-year residency requirement to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) and network access.
