Symmetrio is seeking a Field Service Manager based in the greater Chicago, IL area on behalf of a long-standing organization known for delivering advanced diagnostic imaging solutions—including CT, MRI, X-ray, and ultrasound. This company provides sales, refurbishment, and end-to-end service for high-end imaging systems across multiple manufacturers. In this leadership role, you’ll oversee a team of field engineers responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of imaging equipment. You’ll play a key part in shaping the customer experience, upholding technical standards, and driving day-to-day service performance. This is a full-time, onsite role with approximately 20% travel. It offers a competitive salary in the $120,000–$140,000 range, depending on experience, along with full benefits. Relocation assistance is available for the right candidate. Responsibilities Lead, coach, and develop a team of field service engineers in CT, MRI, X‑ray, and ultrasound service. Oversee installation, preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, and calibration of medical imaging systems. Maintain high service-quality and compliance with OEM standards, safety, and DICOM/networking protocols. Directly assist with complex technical work when needed—hands-on support is essential. Implement performance metrics, manage schedules, and track KPIs using service management tools. Interface with hospital and clinical customers—resolve escalations, optimize site operations, and build trust-based relationships. Ensure proper inventory, tool, and vehicle management across your region. Coordinate training initiatives for team members and clinical staff as needed. Partner with regional leadership on capacity planning and territory coverage decisions. Requirements Bachelor’s in Engineering (Electrical, Biomedical, Mechanical) or equivalent technical training (military engineering, technical certifications). 7+ years of experience with field service in medical imaging—ideally including managerial or lead technician responsibilities. Strong technical know-how in electronics, electromechanical systems, software, networking, and magnet safety. Proven leadership skills: ability to coach, manage priorities, and drive team performance. Exceptionally customer-focused with clear communication and conflict-resolution skills. Comfortable with travel throughout Illinois and flexible scheduling—on-call and occasional weekend work included. Familiarity with DICOM, imaging software, RF shielding, and compliance/regulatory documentation.
