Accounts Payable Analyst

Join the Barnes & Noble team in our remote Accounts Payable Analyst role! We're seeking a detail-oriented and analytical professional to play a key role in our finance department. This position offers a competitive salary (starting at $70,000 - $80,000 annually, depending on experience) and the opportunity to contribute to a leading company in the book industry. What You'll Do As an Accounts Payable Analyst, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including: Cash Forecasting & Payment Planning: Assist with cash flow forecasting, develop the weekly merchandise payment plan, and analyze variances. Account Reconciliations & Reporting: Perform month-end account reconciliations, prepare monthly accruals, and generate reports. Vendor Relations: Manage vendor inquiries, process vendor payments, and assist with chargebacks. System Maintenance: Maintain and update databases, resolve system issues, and participate in system enhancements. Process Improvement: Collaborate with team members to streamline processes and improve efficiency. Oracle AP Interface: Resolve interface rejections and ensure accurate data flow. Support other departments: Assist with Store EDI invoices, P&R accruals, and other related tasks. What You'll Bring We're looking for someone with: Bachelor's degree preferred, with 2-4 years of experience in finance. Strong understanding of Accounts Payable principles and practices. Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Access, Outlook, Word). Excellent analytical, time-management, and problem-solving skills. Experience with financial reconciliations, accruals, and cash forecasting is a plus. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks with strong attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of Oracle Financial Systems is a plus. Location This is a hybrid role requiring 2-3 days per week in our Westhbury, NY office.
