Job Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Academic Advisor II to join the Klein College of Media and Communication team at Temple University. As an Academic Advisor II, you will play a vital role in guiding a diverse population of students towards achieving their academic and professional goals. Key Responsibilities: Advise students on academic schedules, major choices, and course selection, ensuring they are well-equipped to succeed in their chosen fields. Develop and implement communication plans to engage with students, faculty, and staff, promoting a collaborative and supportive learning environment. Provide guidance and project supervision to less experienced staff members, contributing to the growth and development of the academic advising team. Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to disseminate information on curriculum requirements, academic policies, and other relevant issues, ensuring that students are well-informed and supported throughout their academic journey. Participate in new student orientation programs, teaching seminars, and course selection activities, helping to shape the academic experience of incoming students. Contribute to the development and implementation of initiatives aimed at promoting student retention, recruitment, and academic success, including the Fly in 4 program and at-risk student support services. Requirements: Master's degree and at least 1.5 years of post-degree experience, including a minimum of 6 months of advising experience in a higher education setting. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
