Registered Respiratory Therapist - DME Remote | WFH
Job Overview: Our esteemed healthcare organization is in search of a dedicated and highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to provide exceptional respiratory care services to patients across all age groups, from neonates to seniors. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for administering treatments, oxygen services, diagnostic evaluations, and ventilation support to both inpatient and... outpatient populations. Your expertise will be essential in coordinating comprehensive respiratory care, as well as in the planning, development, and implementation of respiratory care programs. Additionally, you will facilitate the setup of various types of positive airway pressure (PAP) therapy as prescribed by physicians. You will play a crucial role in educating patients on the safe and correct usage of respiratory equipment, monitoring adherence to therapy, and conducting follow-up assessments in alignment with departmental protocols.
Key Responsibilities
? Establish and oversee respiratory and PAP therapy equipment in post-acute care environments.
? Document and evaluate all relevant patient information to ensure holistic care delivery.
? Provide education to patients and colleagues regarding procedures and treatment plans to foster understanding and compliance.
? Engage in initiatives aimed at process improvement and address any patient inquiries or concerns.
? Act as a key resource for physicians concerning respiratory therapy within the post-acute setting.
? Monitor patient adherence to therapy and offer recommendations as necessary.
? Customize communication and treatment strategies to accommodate the diverse needs of patient populations, always maintaining respect for privacy and individual preferences.
? Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills
? Proficiency in computer skills, including data entry and patient information retrieval.
? Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities to effectively convey information to varied audiences.
? Strong comprehension of respiratory equipment and associated procedures.
? Reliable transportation for traveling to patient residences for equipment setup and monitoring.
? Availability to be on-call to meet patient needs.
Qualifications
? Required: Current licensing as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice.
? Required: Certification from the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
? Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association.
? Education: An Associate's degree from an AMA-approved Respiratory Therapy program is required. A Bachelor's degree in Allied Health or a related discipline is preferred.
? Previous Experience: Although no prior experience is necessary, familiarity with Positive Airway Pressure (PAP) and other forms of Respiratory Home Medical Equipment is advantageous.
