Embark on a Rewarding Career Opportunity as a Law Librarian for Research Services at Emory University, a top-tier law school located in the vibrant city of Atlanta. We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and service-oriented professional to join our team of 11 professional librarians at the Hugh F. MacMillan Law Library. This is a full-time hybrid position that offers a unique blend of research, teaching, and outreach opportunities, available immediately. As a Law Librarian for Research Services, you will provide high-quality legal and non-legal research assistance to law library users, including students, faculty, members of the local bar, and the general public. Your responsibilities will include: Providing classroom instruction in a variety of settings, ranging from for-credit instruction to one-off sessions Offering scholarship support for law faculty and interacting with a variety of patron groups while staffing the library's Reference Desk Supporting and participating in outreach programs targeting both students and faculty Designing and teaching Advanced Legal Research courses Creating and maintaining online research guides, bibliographies, and other materials to enhance access to legal information Serving on law library and university library committees, engaging in professional development activities, and performing other associated duties as required Qualifications: A JD from an ABA-accredited law school (or equivalent) and an MLIS from an ALA-accredited institution (or equivalent) Experience conducting legal and non-legal research Strong communication skills, including a high comfort level interacting with colleagues and a wide range of library users Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively with others Preferred Qualifications: Experience providing library reference or customer service experience Demonstrated success in teaching or public speaking Desire to participate in professional law librarianship activities at regional and national levels Foreign language knowledge What We Offer: Competitive salary based on education, qualifications, and experience Excellent benefits package, including 24 days PTO annually, 10 additional holidays, and an array of retirement plans Courtesy scholarships for employee, spouse, and dependent children Support for professional development and involvement in professional organizations Remote work options, with one day per week during the school year and two days per week during the summer How to Apply: To apply, please submit your cover letter, addressed to the Search Committee, Law Librarian for Research Services, and your Curriculum Vitae online.
