Key Responsibilities As a Senior Applications Engineer, you will be responsible for developing applications for spatial computing that will run on our latest platforms and devices. Your key responsibilities will include: Designing, developing, and testing applications for spatial computing, using programming languages such as C, C++, C#, Objective-C, Swift, and others Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including designers, engineers, and architects, to define and demonstrate new application concepts and UX principles Working with 3D applications and exploring new possibilities in spatial computing, including augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) Developing prototypes and proof-of-concepts to test and validate new ideas and technologies Participating in the development of new products and features, from concept to launch Collaborating with other engineers to solve complex problems and overcome technical challenges Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to have: A Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience 4+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on 3D applications, AR/VR, or spatial computing Proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as C, C++, C#, Objective-C, Swift, and others Experience with iOS systems, such as ARKit, UIKit, Metal, Core Motion, and others Experience with other AR SDKs, such as ARCore, Vuforia, or similar tools Familiarity with 3D engines, such as Unity, Unreal, or similar technologies Excellent understanding of 3D math and linear algebra Preferred Qualifications In addition to the essential qualifications, we're looking for candidates who have: Experience creating 3D or AR/VR applications or games Experience with game or distributed systems networking Knowledge of 3D content creation tools, such as Maya, 3ds Max, Blender, and others Experience working with cross-functional teams, including designers, engineers, and architects Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment Skills and Competencies To be successful in this role, you will need to have a combination of technical, business, and interpersonal skills, including: Strong programming skills, with the ability to learn new languages and technologies quickly Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex problems and develop creative solutions Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines Strong attention to detail, with a focus on delivering high-quality results Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Apple, we're committed to helping our employees grow and develop their careers, with opportunities for professional development, training, and education.
