Key Responsibilities Provide instructional and non-instructional support to teachers and staff, ensuring a smooth and effective learning environment. Assist with materials preparation, supply management, and copying, freeing up teachers to focus on instruction. Monitor and support student progress in the classroom, working with individual students or small groups as directed by certificated staff. Record observations and data regarding student progress, providing valuable insights for teachers and administrators. Participate in before or after school activities, field trips, and other outings, ensuring a safe and engaging experience for students. Collaborate with staff members to achieve common goals, sharing knowledge and expertise to support student success. Maintain confidentiality with student and employee records, upholding the highest standards of professionalism. Demonstrate multicultural sensitivity and a commitment to equity, working effectively with diverse populations. Perform clerical and other support tasks as assigned, contributing to the overall efficiency of the school. Supervise students in non-classroom settings, such as the lunchroom, playground, or crosswalks, ensuring a safe and respectful environment. Essential Qualifications To be considered for this role, you must meet the following requirements: High school graduation or equivalent. One of the following: ETS Paraeducator Assessment, Associate of Arts degree, 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at an institution of higher education, or completion of a registered apprenticeship program. Basic academic knowledge in core content areas, with a focus on math and reading. Understanding of child development principles and practices. Awareness of cultural and racial diversity, with a commitment to equity and inclusivity. Basic computer skills, including keyboarding and data entry. Knowledge of basic safety and emergency procedures, including hygiene and cleanliness. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are highly valued: Experience working in a school setting, supporting students and staff. Associate's degree or equivalent, demonstrating a higher level of academic achievement.
