Job Summary and Key Responsibilities As a Ground Maintenance Mechanic (Motorized) at JFK Airport, you will be responsible for performing minor maintenance functions, troubleshooting, and repairing ground support equipment. Your duties will include: Applying appropriate tooling, equipment, and materials to accomplish minor maintenance functions, including inspections, troubleshooting, repairing, removing, and replacing components on select Ground Support Equipment. Assisting a Lead Ground Maintenance Technician or a Ground Maintenance Technician on motorized equipment as needed. Completing data entry to record work assignments and communicating with other Delta personnel as required. Requirements and Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: To be considered for this role, you must: Possess a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency. Be at least 18 years of age and have authorization to work in the United States. Have a valid driver's license. Be proficient in English. Ability to lift items weighing between 50 and 70 pounds. Be willing to work a fixed and/or rotating schedule, including afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Must achieve a satisfactory score on entry tests structured to determine ability to perform required tasks. Preferred Qualifications: The following qualifications will give you a competitive edge: A detailed understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic subject areas. Ability to read, comprehend, and apply information found in technical documents, manuals, and schematics. Strong communication skills while working as a team and coordinating repairs with other Delta personnel and outside vendors. Ability to respond to customers' needs with minimum direction and perform repairs in time-sensitive situations. Completion of a two-year degree at a post-secondary technical school and/or related Military experience. What We Offer Compensation and Benefits: As a valued member of our team, you will receive: A competitive salary of $25.71 per hour. A $2,500 sign-on bonus for external applicants hired to work at JFK Airport, paid in two installments of $1,250 after 90 and 180 days of employment. Comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, short/long term disability, and life insurance. 401(k) with generous company contributions up to 9%. New hires are eligible for up to 2 weeks of vacation and 56 hours of paid personal time within a 12-month period. 10 paid holidays per calendar year. Birthing parents are eligible for 12 weeks of paid maternity/parental leave, and non-birthing parents are eligible for 2 weeks of paid parental leave.
