How it works: • Download the Flashfood app and create an account • Browse grocery deals at nearby stores • Add items to your cart and purchase within the app • Pick up your items from the Flashfood Zone at your local partner store Role overview: We’re seeking a Data Director / Head of Data to define and lead the data vision at Flashfood. This person will shape how data drives decision-making, product innovation, and business impact. You’ll build and lead a small, high-leverage team spanning data engineering, analytics, and machine learning. The ideal candidate combines technical fluency with strategic leadership—balancing hands-on guidance and executive communication. Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership • Define and communicate a clear data vision aligned with company strategy. • Prioritize high-impact data products such as Pricing Intelligence and Partner Insights. • Establish governance, quality standards, and a roadmap for key metrics and data products. • Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Finance leadership to ensure data supports strategic decisions. Team Building & Management • Hire, mentor, and retain a world-class data team (data engineers, analysts, and ML roles). • Foster a culture of accountability, pragmatism, and cross-functional collaboration. • Implement agile processes for delivery, measurement, and iteration. Execution & Enablement • Oversee architecture consolidation (Snowflake-first data stack). • Build systems for experimentation, data science deployment, and reporting. • Partner with the engineering org to improve developer velocity through better data tooling and automation. What You Bring • 8–12+ years of experience in data leadership roles (Director, Head of Data, or equivalent). • Proven track record building and scaling data teams from scratch. • Deep understanding of modern data stacks (Snowflake, Airflow, dbt, or similar). • Experience bridging data, engineering, and product strategy. • Strong communicator with the ability to “push back” and prioritize business value.
