Associate Director of Literacy (Grades 3-8) Remote

About the position Responsibilities • Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive early childhood literacy programs and initiatives for grades 3-8. • Design, produce, and facilitate quality professional development for educators and stakeholders on effective literacy strategies. • Develop and deliver engaging content for training sessions, workshops, and webinars to enhance literacy instruction. • Collaborate with program team members to create dynamic learning experiences for educators. • Examine existing CLI content and curriculum to identify necessary changes or new initiatives. • Develop and curate educational tools and resources to enhance staff training and literacy programs. • Implement evaluation measures to assess the impact of literacy tools and resources. • Understand and represent the needs of children, families, and educators in early childhood literacy. • Develop content for parent workshops and community outreach initiatives to foster partnerships. • Stay updated on research and trends in literacy education and contribute to CLI's thought leadership. Requirements • Management experience of a team including seasoned professional individual contributors. • Extensive elementary literacy experience with proven leadership capabilities. • Proven track record of designing and implementing innovative, research-based tools and resources. • Comprehensive knowledge of pedagogy that affirms and sustains Black and Latinx children. • Instructional leadership experience in early childhood education settings. • Deep knowledge of 3rd-8th grade literacy curriculum frameworks and assessment tools. • Outstanding writing abilities prioritizing clarity and audience engagement. • Effective organizational and time management abilities. • Skilled utilization of technology tools and content management systems. • Deep passion for continuous learning and professional growth. Nice-to-haves • A deep love for literacy and books. • Ability/willingness to travel nationally; 25% as needed.
